Choosing a custom portrait is easier when you separate the decision into a few simple questions.

How many pets do you want to include? Do you want the focus on the face, or more of the body and posture? And how would you like the finished piece to look and be used?

ZOYOPAW’s collection is organized around those choices, so you can start with the part that matters most to you.

Start With the Number of Pets

Our current collection includes single-pet, two-pet, and multi-pet portrait options for both cats and dogs.

A single-pet portrait gives one companion the full focus. Two-pet and multi-pet options are designed for pets whose story belongs together—siblings, longtime companions, or several animals from the same family.

If you already know the number of pets you want to include, browsing the full leather portrait collection is the quickest place to start.

Choose Between a Portrait and a Full-Body Design

Next, think about what you want the finished piece to emphasize.

A portrait-focused design centers attention on the face, expression, markings, and the small features people recognize immediately.

A full-body portrait includes more of the pet’s posture and silhouette. It can be a better fit when a sitting position, tail shape, body markings, or a familiar pose is an important part of how you remember them.

Neither format is more meaningful than the other. The better choice is simply the one that preserves the details you care about most.

Then Choose the Finishing Style

For portrait styles, ZOYOPAW currently offers Brooch, Basic Frameless, Round Frame, Decorative Frame, and Double-Sided options.

Brooch

A compact option designed to be worn or kept as a small personal piece. It works well when you want the portrait itself to remain the focus without a surrounding frame.

Basic Frameless

The simplest presentation. With no decorative frame around the portrait, the silhouette and handcrafted surface stay visually clean and direct.

Round Frame

A stitched round leather frame gives the portrait a more defined border while keeping the overall shape classic and balanced.

Decorative Frame

This option adds a more expressive leather border around the portrait. It suits pieces where you want the frame itself to contribute to the finished look.

Double-Sided

A double-sided design is intended for a piece that can be viewed from more than one side. Check the selected product details when ordering so the configuration matches what you have in mind.

Size Changes the Presence of the Piece

Available sizes depend on the selected product and style. On current single-pet portrait products, options include 4 cm, 6 cm, 8 cm, and 10 cm.

A smaller size feels discreet and easy to carry, while a larger size gives the portrait more visual presence. Choose based on how you plan to use the piece rather than assuming larger is always better.

Color Is Part of the Overall Mood

ZOYOPAW offers nine signature leather colors: Natural, Tan, Brown, Chocolate, Black, Red, Green, Blue, and Purple.

Natural and brown tones keep the material feeling classic and leather-forward. Black can create a stronger, more graphic look. Red, green, blue, and purple make the leather itself a more visible part of the design.

Because each piece is individually hand-dyed, slight variations in tone and texture are natural.

Personal Details Are Included

Every portrait also includes complimentary finishing touches. You can add back engraving for a pet name, meaningful date, or short message, and complimentary accessories are available with the portrait.

These details do not need to dominate the design. Their purpose is simply to make the finished keepsake feel more personal to the person receiving or carrying it.

A Simple Way to Decide

If you are still unsure, choose in this order:

· Choose the number of pets.

· Decide whether the face or the full body matters more to the composition.

· Choose the portrait style that fits how you want the piece to look or be used.

· Select a size and leather color.

· Add engraving, accessories, and any order notes that matter to you.

You do not need to make every creative decision yourself. Your photos and notes give the artist the information needed to begin, and Preview & Approval is included before final completion.
